As announced earlier this year, Secrets of the Obscure is the first of Guild Wars 2's new style of expansion. These smaller releases will feature just two maps on release, with a third arriving as Step 1: Gorrik in Sun's Refuge. Just like last time, you'll need to wait two hours after completing the last step (Saving Skyscales). Then, you'll get a letter from Gorrik asking you to visit him in Sun's Refuge. That'll unlock the first part of the Raising Skyscales achievement: A New Life. If you want to unlock one (or both) of the expansions on your account, you can do so easily using the in-game Gem Store: Log in to Guild Wars 2 with the account you want to upgrade. If you're playing on a free account, click the "Upgrade to a Full Account" button in the upper left corner of your screen. As of August 29, 2015 the original Guild Wars 2 content is free to play and does not require an initial purchase of the game or a subscription fee to play. Purchasable content is available in the form of expansions and episodical updates, labelled as Living World seasons, that expand the base/original game content. By the way you do not even need the deluxe upgrade just the pass to lily of the elon which is included in the deluxe version but there is a 2 week purchase available by different ways as well. He just need the item that allows him to go to that place in the end. You can. You'll still unlock 2 very useful mounts and the mastery system allows you to traverse the terrain without being too handicapped by a lack of flying mount (there's even a raptor taxi service) Playing the HoT expac for maybe an hour will unlock gliding which is extremely helpful though. You actually get the glider without owning HoT. To represent a guild, open the guild panel. On the sidebar, the "Account Guilds" tab list of all guilds your account is a member of. Select one and then click the "Represent" checkbox to the left of the guild name. You must do this individually for each character, since joining a guild does not automatically require you to represent it. I'm not too familiar with the development cycle of the original Guild Wars, but searching quickly showed that they released 3 stand alone episodes and an expansion within two years of release, which would make up for a lack of subscription or micro transaction model. Mounts (can be used almost anywhere in the game) 5 "Wide" Maps with much more solo-friendly content and enemies. 1 Guild Hall to choose from. 3 Raid Wings. Lots of achievement hunting, with decent rewards. My personal recommendation is to get Path of Fire because the mounts are the greatest QoL change to the game. Because ranked play is for people who take the game serious and since ranking--which determines quality of competition and to a lesser extent, season rewards via extra pips per match--is subject to increase or decrease based on win/loss, you need to ensure that they are at least getting serious semi-experienced players. 33AkCR.
